As MANA’s founder Mark says, “If I’m gonna bet on someone to get a kid healthy... I’m gonna bet on the moms.”
MANA creates ready-to-use therapeutic food—essentially super-charged peanut butter, fortified with vitamins, milk sugar, and of course, peanuts. These life-saving packets are distributed by some of the world’s largest aid organizations to treat childhood malnutrition. I was invited to Northern Uganda’s Moroto region to help tell the stories of the mothers who are bringing their children back to health—one packet at a time.
